The parish church in Chester le Street has a very rich ancient and modern history. Stretching back over a thousand years, the parish church has links with St Cuthbert and the Lisdisfarne gospels.

Church Opening hours
Summer months - Easter until the end of September - the Church will be open for prayer and for visitors from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm - subject to Stewards being available to 'man' the Church.
Winter months - From the beginning of October to Easter from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm.
There may be times when the Church is not available for people to visit eg because of weddings and funerals. If you are coming some distance it may be advisable to check with the Parish Office that the Church will be open to visit.
Group bookings should be made in advance via the Parish Office.
On Thursday mornings and Sundays the Church is open as usual for services.
